The Challenge
Barley & Grain was getting 15–20 website enquiries a day from pubs, restaurants, and retail buyers wanting product info, pricing, and minimum order details. The owner was responding personally, often 24+ hours late, and losing trade accounts to faster competitors. Hiring a customer service person wasn't viable at their size.
Our Solution
We built a Claude-powered chat agent embedded on their website, trained on their full product catalogue, pricing tiers, delivery areas, and FAQ content. The agent handles product questions, recommends beer styles for specific food pairings, gives trade pricing on request, and captures lead details for orders it can't complete. Complex enquiries are escalated to the owner with a summary of the conversation.
