Custom E-Commerce Store That Freed Verdant Home From Marketplace Fees
An Austin-based sustainable furniture brand was losing 15% of every sale to Etsy and Amazon commissions with no access to customer data. We built a fully custom e-commerce storefront — reclaiming their margins and customer relationships.
The Challenge
Verdant Home had grown to $22K/month in sales across Etsy and Amazon, but 15% in platform fees wiped out most of their profit. Worse, they had zero visibility into who their customers were — no email list, no purchase history, no way to run promotions. They wanted their own store but feared losing traffic in the transition.
Our Solution
We built a full-stack e-commerce site with a product catalogue, variant management (colour/size), Stripe payments, order tracking, and an admin dashboard for inventory and order management. We integrated Cloudinary for image optimisation and built an SEO-friendly URL structure to grow organic traffic from day one. The launch was staggered to keep Etsy running in parallel during the transition.
